Art of Noise: In Visible Silence: Deluxe Edition [2 CD] (2017)

Tracks 1-1 to 1-11: In Visible Silence is presented in it's original, intended form, and sequenced as per the first UK edition. That is, as opposed to the US and later European pressings, which had the Max Headroom version of "Paranoimia" inserted and the "Extended Version" of "Peter Gunn" appended.

The singles:
Track 1-12 is taken from a production master of the "Paranoid Mix" 12" dated 01 July 1985 (China Reel 330).
Track 1-13 is taken from a Town House production master for "Legs (Inside Leg Mix)" dated 30 September 1985 (CR 506).
Track 1-14 is taken from the B-side of Legs, and appears here for the first time on cd. Taken from same same production reel as the Legs 7" mix (CR330).
Track 1-15 is taken from the B-side of Peter Gunn. This was sourced from a master reel dated 26 January 1986 (CR 493).
Track 1-16 is taken from the B-side of Paranoimia, and appears here for the first time on cd. Taken from the Paranoid 12" master reel (CR 506).
Track 1-17 is taken from the B-side of Paranoimia, and as a bonus track on the Japanese of The FON Mixes. Taken from the Paranoid 12" master reel (CR 506).
Track 18.1 is sourced from a master reel dated 26 January 1986 (CR 493). This was originally recorded for 12" B-side of Peter Gunn (Extended Version), though never released or heard again, until now.

The making of...:
Tracks 2-1, 2-2, 2-7 and 2-8 are taken from one of the earliest, though undated, tapes, a session reel (CR 398) from Maison Rogue studios.
Tracks 2-3 and 2-11 are taken from a tape marked "Art Of Noise '86" (CR 395) containing a selection of tracks and ideas from the end of the In Visible Silence era.
Track 2-3 would later be developed further and become the theme for the third series of Channel 4's "The Max Headroom Show".
Tracks 2-4, 2-6 and 2-10 are taken from a second undated reel from the Maison Rouge sessions (CR 265). Track 2-6 is a urgent version of "Backbeat" under it's original title, "Panic".
Tracks 2-5 and 2-9 are taken from a third tape (CR 317) and yielded a first attempt at a title for "Paranoimia" ("Parananioa"), "Beddoo-Bedoo" (named after samples of Marilyn Monroe, in a section not included here) which would become the middle section of "The Chameleon's Dish", and "Trumpton Boogie", which would later develop into "Slip Of The Tongue".

The mixes stop here!:
Tracks 2-12, 2-14 and 2-16 were the "straight" extensions. Track 2-12 has not been released on cd before and comes from the same reel as tracks as tracks 1-13 and 1-14 (CR330).
Track 2-13 is available on cd for the first time and comes from a Town House Cutting Room production master (CR 486) dated 15 October 1985.
Track 2-17.1 is taken from a proper master source, the Town House master reel dated 01 July 1986 (CR 506). The Influence (Hits, Singles, Moments, Treasures…) compilation used a transfer from the 12" vinyl.

Last track of each disc contains an unlisted 'Art Of Noise Home Service' vocoder piece, playing after around 91 seconds of silence.
Track 1-18 total duration is 4:00.
Track 2-17 total duration is 9:37.

A strictly limited edition bundle came exclusively via Pledge Music, including 5 bonus 12″×12″ prints on 350gsm matt card, replicating the front cover of following five 12" singles:
- "Legs", signed by Anne Dudley;
- "Legs (Last Leg)";
- "Peter Gunn", signed by JJ Jeczalik;
- "Peter Gunn (The Twang Mix)";
- "Paranoimia", signed by Gary Langan.

Another strictly limited edition bundle from Pledge Music included a bonus 12″×12″ print replicating the front cover of the album and signed by Anne Dudley, JJ Jeczalik and Gary Langan.
